Tension Flow Trend (BigBeluga): tested

No edge TradingView indicator · tested 12 Sep 2026 · figures re-checked 8 Oct 2026

What it claims

It plots a trend baseline with a 'tension' layer that fires START signals, draws a stop and a 2:1 target on each one, and shows a rolling win rate on its dashboard. On gold's 5-minute chart that dashboard read 34 wins and 66 losses at 2:1.

What we tested

4,012 of its own START signals on gold, EURUSD, Nasdaq 100, S&P 500, USDJPY and Bitcoin at 1, 5 and 15 minutes, entered at the next bar's open with a stop of one average range and a 2:1 target, one trade at a time.

Before trading costs unless stated. R = the amount risked on a trade.

We left trading costs out of this test. With a result of about zero before costs, any spread makes it negative: on gold, costs would take 0.03R to 0.13R from every trade.

Why

Underneath the display, the signal is a plain 50-period moving-average crossover with a 2:1 target. Over 4,012 trades it won almost exactly the share needed to break even, and results flipped sign between markets, between the two halves of the sample, and between buys and sells. On gold it did no better than trades taken in a random direction. Its own dashboard, 34 wins in 100 at 2:1, was already showing a break-even figure.

Limits of this test

  • Costs were left out; every figure is before spread and commission.
  • Short samples: gold 1-minute covers 12 days, 5-minute 54 days, 15-minute 164 days.
  • The script does not publish its stop's average-range length; we matched it to the dashboard's own 34/66 count, and neighbouring settings give similar results.
