How we test
- Its own rules first. Entries, stops and targets as the tool defines them, at its default settings, entered at the next bar's open: a price you could actually get.
- Several markets and timeframes. A result that holds on one chart only is usually luck.
- Against chance. We compare with random entries, or with a coin flip choosing buy or sell at the same moments. A tool has an edge only if it beats what luck produces in the same search.
- Before and after costs. The headline is before costs, so a failure is the tool's own; spreads and commissions are shown separately.
- Re-checked before publishing. Each page gives the date its figures were last re-run.
