LuxAlgo YouTube strategies (LuxAlgo): tested
What it claims
The channel's videos present indicators and price-action ideas (breaker blocks, order blocks, fair value gaps, structure breaks, trailing stops) as ways to find high-probability trades.
What we tested
We went through 127 videos. Most covered a method we had already tested or a closed-source script; the 22 new methods with rules we could code were run as 74 versions on 12 markets (gold, silver, currencies, US indices, oil, Bitcoin, Ether) on daily and 4-hour bars, with the exits the videos use.
After spreads, slippage and financing the average was -0.115R per trade; 33 of the 74 versions were clearly negative.
Why
Before costs these entries average roughly zero, so nothing is left once costs are paid. Keeping one entry fixed and moving the target closer raised the win rate by about 9 points, but the smaller wins cancelled it out. The one change that leaned positive, a trailing stop with no fixed target, was too small to tell from luck and turned negative on newer 30-minute data.
Limits of this test
- Tested on the first 60% of each market's history; the rest is held back for any strategy that passes. Costs use our own spread, slippage and overnight-financing model, not one broker's.
- About a third of the videos describe what a closed-source script draws, not how it works; those are untested, not refuted.
- 4-hour bars cover only about 2023 to early 2025.
